Top 15 Home remedies to cure acidity

Its one of the most common problem associated with digestive tract. People suffering from acidity are ready to do anything just to curb its unpleasant sensation. Here, i am stating some of the home remedies that can help you in prevent this problem.

As we know, our stomach secretes Hydro Chloric Acid to help us during digestion of food. But if this secretion of HCL exceeds a certain limit, it starts creating problem to us, possible symptom could be burning sensation in stomach, heart burn and excess secretion of saliva in your mouth.

Remedies to cure Acidity
1. Avoid spicy & oily food: The reason behind avoiding these food is simple. Spicy good acts as fuel to the fire, when you are having problem of acidity.  
2. Drink plenty of water: Reason behind drinking water is, water dilutes the acid & hence lessens its effect. 
3. Basil leaves: Eating some 6 to 7 basil leaves after meal is really effective in curing acidity.
4. Cold milk: If you want an instant relief from acidity all you need is a chilled glass of milk, drink it slowly and it is definitely going to help you.  
5. Chew Mint: Just like basil leaves chewing mint leaves is also effective in curing acidity. 
6. Avoid alcohol & tobacco: If you want to get rid from acidity, you will have to leave behind all the acidic foods and turn towards alkaline foods. Alcohol & tobacco both are acidic, so should be avoided.
7. Yogurt and butter-milk: Eating yogurt or butter-milk cools our stomach providing a relief in acidity.  
8. Include fiber in your diet: Diets having fibers in them are easy to be digested by stomach & hence reduces the chance of having acidity.
9. Do exercise: doing little bit of exercise before taking meals is really effective in curing acidity.
10. Avoid tea & coffee: A person with problem of acidity should have to avoid all the acidic food items and tea & coffee are both acidic in nature. So, they both needs to be avoided. 
11. Use pillow while sleeping: If you are suffering from hyperacidity then using pillow at night will help you to sleep peacefully.
12. Avoid eating non-veg food: Non-veg should be avoided as it is highly acidic in nature & it also takes longer time to digest.
13. Don't sleep just after eating: Walking after eating food helps in digestion process removing chances of creating acidity.
14. Chew cinnamon & clove: Chewing of cinnamon or clove helps in curing acidity problem.
15. Eat Jaggery after meals: Its in Indian tradition to eat something sweet after meals. And the best sweet thing to be eaten after meals is jaggery. It helps in digestion process & hence lessen the chances of creating acidity.
